Imagine a business fueled by new ideas, creative thought and new imaginations.

We live in a time where people no longer work for a company for an entire career.  Instead, layoffs are common and job security is almost nonexistent. For most employees and entrepreneurs, the marketplace often feels noisy, saturated and highly competitive.  Students graduating from university are often unable to secure employment, leaving many wondering what the future holds.

The reality today is that education on its own may not be enough, the need to differentiate yourself from the crowd is more important than it has ever been.

To succeed in this economy many are learning they need to embrace and explore Innovation.

Innovation is the introduction of something new and effective in the market. It could be the introduction of a new technology, new product or improvement in an existing product or new method of production.

Through innovation, Kye highlights 3 ways to help your business stand out from the crowd:

1- Provide innovative solutions, not just products and services.

It’s essential to identify a customer’s true needs in order to solve their problems. You need to determine the ‘gaps’ in the market.

“We must learn what customers really want, not what they say they want or what we think they should want.” – Eric Ries

2- Test new ideas.

While thinking up new ideas is important, it is critical to listen to the marketplace and the customers in order to determine if the idea will actually be of benefit.  Take time to test the response to a new idea before investing massive amounts of time and money.

“It’s not what you don’t know that gets you in trouble..It’s what you are certain of.” – Kye Husbands

3- Innovate on purpose.

An individual’s passion for a challenge or need, coupled with the opportunity to change the world is the best driving force for innovation.

“Love the problem you want to solve.” – Kye Husbands

This week I challenge you to strive to be innovative and bring a new idea to the market.  Stand out from the crowd!
