“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside dreams; who looks inside awakens.” – Carl Jung

Do you feel like you are walking through your life in the dark with no clear vision or clear direction?

Perhaps you avoid creating a vision because you believe the exercise is pointless. “Why make a vision when it’s impossible to accomplish those things anyway?”

It’s time to create a vision worthy of your life!

What is Vision?

“Great people design their life, while everyone else survive life.”  – Suzan Hart

Vision is your why.  It gives your life direction and allows you to visualize your desired future. It reflects your strengths, values, goals and purpose; it represents everything you would like to be, do, and have in life.

To begin to create a compelling vision, a vision worthy of your life, I recommend you pay attention to 3 key elements:

  • Bigger than you.

Your vision lives in your future and it must be bigger than you and your present ability to fulfill it.  A vision pulls you beyond your current situation to see the possibilities that live way beyond your comfort zone. It makes your heart race and often the thought of it takes your breath away.  Your vision inspires you to become the next best version of yourself.

  • Big enough to be contagious.

True vision inspires. The reality is people follow leaders who have a vision they can contribute to and benefit from.  When Rosa Parks sat down on the bus and refused to get up, her courage inspired and disrupted a nation. What seemed like a simple act, began a series of events that compelled Dr. Martin Luther King to eventually lead the March on Washington. One vision became a force that would change the face of a nation.

  • Requires you to grow.

Your vision will challenge you and demand that you grow. Consider you have everything within you to achieve anything you desire. Vision releases resources. It is simply a catalyst that activates growth and demands you become more.

We all carry a dream inside us. The only limit to those dreams is that of the vision.  I encourage you to release fears and trust your heart. I have learned that vision is only seen and heard when you listen to your heart.
