Suzan believes the first person every leader must learn to lead is themselves.
A title can give someone authority, but it cannot create credibility. Credibility is built through how a leader thinks, responds, communicates, and shows up when pressure rises.

The Story Behind The Work
Suzan’s work is not theory alone. It was shaped through lived experience.
Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Suzan immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of five. From an early age, she learned the value of education, excellence, discipline, and achievement.
She became a high performer.
- She earned degrees.
- She built a meaningful career.
- She led teams.
- She created results.
- She became the person others expected her to become.
But at the height of her success, Suzan found herself physically exhausted, financially stretched, and internally disconnected from the life she thought success was supposed to create.
That season became a turning point.
Suzan began to understand that knowledge and skill were not enough. The deeper work was mindset. The stories she believed, the pressure she carried, the emotions she managed, and the way she led herself were shaping everything around her.
That realization became the foundation of her life’s work.
Before becoming known as the Mindset Mastery Mentor, Suzan spent 16 years as a family, individual, and group counsellor.
She worked extensively in crisis, mediation, child welfare, women’s services, cross-cultural counselling, and community support. She also managed a women’s shelter, a community-based counselling service, and one of the largest drop-in shelters in downtown Toronto.
This background gave Suzan a deep understanding of people under pressure.
She learned how fear, identity, communication, power, conflict, and culture shape the way people respond to life, leadership, and one another.
Today, that experience informs her work with business owners, leaders, teams, and organizations.
